Fond helps you notice. You decide.

Fond notes three warning signs in the screenshots you share, and shows you why. What they mean is up to you. Help is one tap from every red flag in the app, and listed by country on this page.

Quick exit, at the top of the page, opens BBC Weather straight away. On a keyboard, press Shift three times. It doesn't clear your browser history.

What Fond does.

It helps you notice and remember. You decide.

  1. It notes three warning signs.

Fond can add a red flag when his story changes between chats, he asks for money, or he pushes you to move off the app fast. It can miss things.

Victoria Police lists requests for money, and moving the chat off the app soon after first contact, as warning signs. It also suggests looking out for inconsistent stories. The US Federal Trade Commission warns about requests for money and moving off the platform.

Each flag shows the screenshots behind it, with their dates.

  2. You decide what it means.

A flag is a note, not a verdict. A story can change for ordinary reasons. Several flags together are worth a second look. Each flag offers one small step, like asking a friend for a second opinion.

If a flag doesn't fit, tap Clear this flag. It moves to Cleared flags with its screenshots and dates. Undo, or Restore flag later, brings it back.

What Fond never does.

  • It never tells anyone.

Fond never sends a flag to him, to anyone you know, or to us. It never calls or messages anyone for you.

  • It never decides for you.

A flag is a note, not a verdict. What it means is up to you.

  • It never pushes you.

Fond offers small steps, never orders. You choose what to do, and when.

  • It never labels anyone.

A flag describes something he said, never who he is. There are no scores and no safe or unsafe labels. The counts in his note show how many flags you've kept, nothing more.

  • It never claims to know who he is.

Fond can't tell whether his photos are his, or whether he is who he says he is. It sees only the screenshots you share.

  • It never puts a flag or safety advice in a notification.

Your Lock Screen stays clear of both.

  • It never says all is well.

Fond can miss things. A note with no red flags doesn't mean all is well. If something feels wrong, trust that feeling.

  • It never replaces help.

Fond isn't an emergency service. In an emergency, or if you feel unsafe right now, call your local emergency number.

Get help.

Here's who to contact. We're adding countries one at a time.

In an emergency, or if you feel unsafe right now, call your local emergency number.

  • 112 works in every EU country, alongside each country's own numbers.
  • In Canada, if you're outside the 911 service area, call the emergency services in your area.
  • On iPhone, press and hold the side button and either volume button to call emergency services. In India, press the side button three times quickly. There, iPhone plays a warning sound during the countdown.

In Australia

You can call or text most of these services. A call can be overheard. A text stays in Messages until you delete it.

If you sent money or bank details

It isn't your fault. Contact your bank first. Then report it to the dating app, and to the police or your country's fraud service. If someone offers to get your money back for a fee, the US Federal Trade Commission says never to pay upfront.

In the app, Get help lists Australian services today. We're adding more countries, and checking each one with the service itself.

We checked each number on this page on 27 October 2026, on the service's own website or an official government site.

If someone checks your phone.

Some people date or live with someone who looks through their phone. If that's you, these may help. Only do what feels safe for you.

Fond on your phone

  • Anyone who can open your phone may see that Fond is there. Think about whether Fond is right for you to have right now.
  • Fond opens with Face ID or your passcode. Anyone who knows your passcode, or whose face is set up on your iPhone, can open it.
  • Some apps tell the other person when you take a screenshot. If you're not sure, check that app's help pages first.
  • The screenshots you share with Fond also stay in your Photos app, and in iCloud Photos if it's on. Fond doesn't remove them.
  • Fond keeps its notes out of iCloud Backup, so they stay on this iPhone.
  • Fond never puts a flag or safety advice in a notification.
  • Delete all my data erases everything Fond keeps on this iPhone. Before you delete anything, think about whether you might want those screenshots later.

Your iPhone

  • Changes to your phone can be noticed. That includes a new passcode or a deleted app. A support service can help you plan what to change, and when.
  • A hidden app still shows in Screen Time, in Battery, in your App Store purchases and in Settings, under Apps, then Hidden Apps.
  • To change what notifications show on your Lock Screen, open Settings, tap Notifications, then tap Show Previews.
  • Safety Check, in Settings under Privacy & Security, lets you review and stop sharing your information with people and apps. Apple suggests thinking about your safety before you change anything.
  • Emergency SOS texts your emergency contacts with your location after a call, unless you cancel. Apple suggests making sure they're people you trust. You can see who they are in the Health app, under Medical ID.

Looking for help

  • If you can, use a phone or computer they haven't had access to.
  • Calls show in Recents. Texts show in Messages. Both can show on other devices signed in to your Apple Account. Records of texts may also appear on the phone bill of whoever owns the account.
  • This page still shows in your browser history, and your browser may keep it on other devices you're signed in to. Next time, a private or incognito window keeps pages out of your history on this device.
  • If you remove this page from your history, removing only this site can be less noticeable than clearing everything.
  • Quick exit takes you to BBC Weather straight away. On a keyboard, press Shift three times.
  • This page doesn't use Google Analytics.
